Size Guide Hat

To find the right size. Measure around your head with a tape measure. You have to measure right around where the cap should be. From the boiler, passing over the edge of the ear and the lower part of the back of the head. See next picture.

Important things to remember...

If your hat gets wet, it will take the form as it dries on! If you do not give the shape of it, it will shrink to its own smaller shape. If you want it to fit your head, dry it on the head.

Never wash a baseball cap!

New Era, Leader and some other brands are made of wool and you will ruin its shape if you wash it. To clean the sweatband of his cap, take a wet wash cloth and some detergent. Wash and rub gently sweatband with the wet cloth. Once you've got pure sweat band on the stains and dirt, rinse your cloth with clean water and wipe the sweat band. Make sure that no detergent remains. Let dry and your cap is ready to go again. Some spots may remain, but the cap is clean anyway. NOTE! Never put your hat in the dryer and dry it there!

Hair and dust

Things like cat hair, dust or lint, just take a bit of masking tape (wide) and wrap some of it around your fingers so the sticky side facing out. The tape will pick up all the lint and other things.

A bit too big hat?

Take a spray bottle with warm water and spray the sweat band. Let dry in the sun on top of such an empty coffee can. You can also dry it with a good portable hair dryer. You can shrink the cap 1 / 2 to 1 size in this way.

A bit of small cap or it has shrunk?

What happens is the sweatband does its job and collects any moisture when you wear it. You then take off your hat and it dries. Without a head to hold its shape and size, it will shrink when it dries. For starters, grab your cap from the back, place it over your knee and give a good hard tug. You will hear some popping noises. It's OK. Stop pulling after you hear a couple of these sounds. If you pull too hard and too long, you can rip a seam.

This technique can also be worn on the hat you bought is slightly too small. What you are actually doing is breaking size, which is a stiff plastic strap sewn into the cap to stay in shape and size.
