In hip hop culture, is a grillz (also called seeds or Gold), a type of jewelry worn over the teeth. Grillz are made of metal and are generally removable.
They began to be worn by the rap song in the early 1980s, but they became very popular during the mid-2000 due to the success of Dirty South rap.

Grillz are made of several types of metal (usually silver, gold or platinum) that are sometimes decorated with precious stones, they are generally removable, though some may be permanently attached to the teeth.
Grillz can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands of crowns, depending on materials used and the number of teeth covered.

Grillz worn mostly by male hip-hoppers ages 18 to 35 years. Some have argued grillz that will never become mainstream, however, grillz worn by both men and women of all races,
at least to some extent, as well as many celebrities far from hip-hop culture as Marilyn Manson or Travis Barker of Blink-182. Many members of metal band Avenged Sevenfold Wear also uses grillz.
